Sagging skin is a natural process that occurs as the years go by. It happens to be more obvious in certain portions of the body, for example in the arms and under the jaw. Here are some home remedies to tighten loose skin on face.

Although sagging skin is never completely eliminated, you can improve its appearance. How? With natural ways to firm sagging skin, avoid the loss of elastin and collagen.

Moderate changes

Non-invasive procedures: these are non-invasive procedures because they leave the skin intact, you may see some redness and swelling that will be temporary and are usually the only sign of the procedure.

What to expect:

Results: appear gradually, so they appear natural.

Recovery time: little or none.

It is safe on all skin types.

Duration: generally lasts 1 hour or less.

Pain: There may be some discomfort during the procedure.

Makeup: often can be applied immediately post the procedure.

Treatment options:

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound: Dermatologists are using heat sent through an ultrasound to stimulate collagen production as one of the skin tightening treatments. With 1 treatment, most patients see improvement in moderate flaccidity in a period of 2 to 6 months.

Radiofrequency: A device is placed against your skin that heats the tissue underneath. Most patients immediately after 1 treatment feel a bit of tension. It takes time for your body to produce collagen, so you will see the best results in about 6 months. A few people get benefitted from having in excess of 1 treatment. Results might last 2-3 years with appropriate skin care.

Procedures with better results

Microneedle radiofrequency: With this type of radiofrequency, a thin tube (or needles) is inserted into your skin to heat the tissue underneath. This allows heat to be delivered exactly where it is needed to tighten the skin. Dermatologists often use this procedure for the neck or upper arms. Simply put, heat is applied where it is needed allowing you to see results faster, usually in about 1 month. In some research studies, patients see gradual adjustment and lifting over 1 year. After the procedure, you will need someone to drive you home and you may need to wear a compression garment for 4-5 days.

Laser resurfacing: This is the most effective procedure for tightening the skin. Unlike the other treatments, this procedure requires downtime (5 to 7 days) and among the disadvantages is a greater risk of possible side effects, such as scars. Laser resurfacing also provides the fastest results (first results after 2 weeks).
